The person who enters a therapist's office in turmoil is taking a personal risk while at his or her most vulnerable. I am honored when a client chooses to take this risk with me. Nothing less than fully attentive, compassionate treatment is deserved, and nothing less is provided. In a first session, my goal is to provide a comfortable setting in which my client feels safe in sharing some personal information, and a mutual exchange which allows her or him to assess my skills and style. My own assessment usually allows me to offer useful feedback at the end of the initial session.

My work is to provide skilled, professional psychotherapy services in an engaging, interactive style that facilitates warm ties with my clients. Each unique therapeutic relationship brings me the personal and professional satisfaction that illuminates this important work.
